Senior Digital Media Strategist

Derek brings 10 years of experience in creating and developing media plans on both a national and local scale, with an emphasis on digital and broadcast marketing strategies. As Senior Media Strategist at Robertson+Partners, Derek is meticulously involved in delivering our client’s advertising objectives, shown through a firm understanding of media research, negotiation tactics and market landscape.

As a Maryland native, Derek graduated from Towson University in Baltimore with a B.S. in Mass Communication and held media positions at two of the largest agencies in the market (GKV and Tri-Media). Functioning as both a planner and a buyer, he delivered strategic media plans that focused on cost efficiency, precise targeting and lead generation. After working for several years in Baltimore, Derek moved to “The Big Apple” for a role at a “big data” marketing company, PrecisionDemand, where he executed hyper-targeted TV campaigns using scientific media buying technology. He proudly served on CARFAX, Rhapsody, Rockwell Tools and ClearChoice Dental during this time. After the company was sold to AOL, he moved on to a strategic planning position at Allscope Media working on the Jackson Hewitt account, also in New York City. Derek served as an integral part of the team that delivered seasonal media plans to over 200 markets—the nature of a franchisee business. In his free time, Derek enjoys playing the guitar, testing out recipes in the kitchen and anything sports related.
